(New York, NY) -- An eighth grader from Pennsylvania has set a new two-mile world record.

Sophia Rodriguez clocked a time of ten minutes, 20-point-68 seconds to surpass the old record for her Under 14 class.

The feat came as she competed late last week at the Nike Indoor Nationals in New York City.

During the cross country season, Rodriguez also won the Pennsylvania state middle school championship. She has also set multiple middle school all-time bests in the state.
