(Cleveland, OH) -- A Cleveland man who left voicemail messages trying to hire someone to kill his son has been sentenced to prison.

Demsen Ramsey was originally charged with two counts of complicity which could have carried a sentence of life in prison.

Instead, he pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of aggravated assault and was sentenced to 18 months behind bars. Ramsey says he was drunk on October 13th of 2022 when he tried to leave voicemail messages for a friend with one of them specifically offering five-thousand dollars to have his adult son killed.

In actuality, Ramsey had dialed a wrong number each time and left all of his messages on the voicemail of a dumpster rental company.
