McConnell backs linking aid for Ukraine and Israel

(Washington, DC)  —  Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell is advocating for aid for Ukraine.

He told reporters today he agrees “conceptually” with Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer on a sweeping package to provide funding to Israel, Ukraine, Taiwan and the southern border.

He added, however, that Democrats will have to include strong border provisions to get Republican support.

This comes as House Republicans are pushing for a standalone Israel package.

Schumer called the bill purely partisan and inadequate.
