FARGO, N.D. (Valley News Live) – Emergency crews responded to 13th Ave. S. and University Drive in Fargo just after 3:00 a.m. Friday morning for a report that a vehicle in the area was on fire.
Captain Bryan Niewind of the North Dakota Highway Patrol, says the car was headed northbound on University Drive, failed to make the turn east onto 13th Ave. S. and crashed into a business. Preliminary investigation suggests speed was a factor in the crash.
Two people were in the car at the time of the crash. The driver was taken to Sanford Fargo with life-threatening injuries. The passenger was pronounced dead at the scene.
Identities of those involved won’t be released until family is properly notified. Police say the road reopened just before 7:00 a.m.
