Wadena County Shootout Kills Two, Injures Deputy

(North Germany Township, MN) -- Two people are dead, and a Sheriff's deputy hurt after a shooting Saturday night in Wadena County that began with a traffic stop that went very wrong. Authorities there say this went down just before 9pm when a deputy tried pulling someone over in North Germany Township. That led to a struggle, and ultimately a gunfight. Four people, not including the deputy were hit. One died at the scene, another was pronounced at the hospital. One Sebeka police officer was also hit, but his vest apparently saved him. The Wadena deputy hit has serious, but not life threatening injuries. The Minnesota BCA is handling the investigation.
