ND Senate Guts Transgender Athlete Bill

(Bismarck, ND)  --  The North Dakota Senate is moving forward with a heavily amended bill dealing with transgender high school athletes.  The Senate amended a House bill that would have restricted transgender high school athletes from competing in sports that don't match the gender on their birth certificate.  Instead of restricting athletes, the new bill approved an optional study of the issue.  The Senate version now heads back to the House and could end up in a House-Senate conference committee.
