Supreme Court: Soon-To-Be Vacant Judgeship Stays In Mandan

(Mandan, ND) -- A soon-to-be vacant district judgeship will stay in Mandan.

The North Dakota Supreme Court says when Judge John Grinsteiner retires next month, that South Central District position will remain.

The Supreme Court determines whether to keep a judgeship location when someone leaves the post. This decision was made on caseload data and comments from others in the law-field.

Caseloads and felony filings are increasing in the area, along with the population, which are major factors in the Court's decision.
