DAPL Operator Facing Safety Violations Fine

(Bismarck, ND) -- The operator of the Dakota Access Pipeline is facing over 93-thousand dollars in fines over safety violations.

The Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration says some valves for stormwater drainage on tanks at six facilities are improperly placed.

Operators are also being cited for failing to correct issues related to issues such as the line's ability to relieve pressure.

Officials say there is no indication that the problems have resulted in any oil leaks.
