(Vandenberg Air Force Base, CA) -- A crew from the 91st Missile Wing based at Minot Air Force Base was part of a team that initiated a test launch of an unarmed Intercontinental Ballistic Missile.
The missile was launched Wednesday morning from Vandenberg Air Force Base in California. The missile was equipped with a test re-entry vehicle that detonated non-nuclear explosives before splashing down in the water about 42-hundred miles away near the Marshall Islands.
The tests are routine and planned years in advance.
