A 3-Year-Old Killed After Playing with Gun in Minnesota

(Cass County, MN) -- Tragedy in Cass County Minnesota.

Sheriff Tom Burch says Friday at around 3:54 AM, his Office received a report of an accidental shooting at a residence in Bena.

Deputies responded and learned that a juvenile female, who was just 3-years-old, had been shot by accidental gunfire by a juvenile male, who is just five-years-old, in the house. The victim was being transported to the Deer River Hospital by family members and intercepted by the Deer River Ambulance. Lifesaving efforts were attempted. The little girl was pronounced dead at the Deer River Hospital. 

An autopsy is pending with the Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office and the investigation continues.
