(St. Paul, MN) -- Minnesota has dismissed a lawsuit from the American Civil Liberties Union of Minnesota, which claimed there was an inadequate response to COVID-19 in prisons.
Court documents from earlier this week show the Ramsey County District Court approved a motion to dismiss and denied a temporary injunction. The ACLU-MN lawsuit filed last year said the DOC failed to put in necessary measures to stop or slow the spread of COVID-19 in prisons as well as violated constitutional rights.
Corrections officials say they have conducted several measures to address the pandemic, which resulted in 80-percent of inmates being vaccinated.
