Governor Tim Walz Announces he will Run for Re-election in 2022

(St. Paul, MN) -- The leader of Minnesota is set to run for another term.

Governor Tim Walz has announced Tuesday that he will run for re-election in 2022. In a statement released to WDAY Radio, Walz said it has been an honor to serve as Governor to this point, and that he and Lt. Governor Peggy Flanagan are excited to continue the fight against COVID-19 and save lives.

"During the unprecedented challenges of the last two years, I’ve seen Minnesotans from all walks of life come together in order to fight the virus, save lives and get our state on the path to recovery," said Walz. "We’re not done yet."

Walz first ran and won the Governor's chair back in 2018. He is set to face several challengers, the main of which may be Republican State Senator Paul Gazelka.
