(Fargo, ND) -- Although 93% of the state is still experiencing drought of some kind, The change in severity comes from several widespread storms. Last week, 46% of the state was under extreme drought conditions - the second highest level of drought measured. As of today, that number is only 8.8%.
A similar change was found in the third most severe category. Last week, nearly 75% of the state was in severe drought, this week, that number is just above 48%.
The changes came from rainfall over the last few weeks, with some areas of the state seeing up to 6 inches in a 14-day period.
