(Duluth, MN) -- Minnesota Power is looking to increase its electricity rate.
On Monday, the Duluth-based electric company filed a request with the Minnesota Public Utilities Commission to increase its rate by about 16-percent. The move would add an average of 15-dollars per month to residential customers' bills and around 55-dollars for small business customers.
The news comes just a week after Xcel Energy asked for a 21-percent rate hike over three years for its residential customers.
