(Minot, ND) -- The North Dakota Highway Patrol says a Ward County deputy was involved in one of two crashes along a Minot highway.

The NDHP says the 39-year-old deputy had his emergency lights and sirens Wednesday and was going west on 252 when his vehicle collided with a van going the opposite direction and ended up hitting a pole and overturning in a ditch. The deputy suffered minor injuries and the van driver suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

Moments earlier on the opposite end of the highway, a semi and a sedan collided roughly three miles west of the Flying J Truck Stop, with undisclosed injuries.
