(St. Paul, MN) -- The state is expanding eligibility for the COVID-19 vaccine booster.

Minnesota Department of Health Commissioner Jan Malcolm announced Tuesday that the state is preparing to open up eligibility to everyone aged 18 and older. Malcolm says Minnesota plans to move forward with the expansion even if there is no action on the federal level.

The news comes as the state is dealing with another COVID surge.
