(Bismarck, ND) -- The North Dakota Department of Health (NDDOH) is issued a report saying vaccination rates of children is lower than last year.

Officials with NDDOH say they are currently at a 61-percent vaccination rate for the 2020-2021 season. The previous season reached a 70-percent vaccination rate.

The NDDOH says the season's peak is still on the way, and urges residents to get vaccines sooner rather than later to increase its effectiveness.
