(Bismarck, ND) -- The North Dakota Department of Human Services is asking for public opinion on the state's Medicaid waiver that pays for services that help older adults and adults with physical disabilities who qualify for skilled nursing care to live in their own homes and communities.

The Aging Services Division is proposing to renew the 1915(c) Medicaid waiver, which would provide in-home and community-based services in individuals' homes and communities. The goal of the waiver is to help people remain living in their own homes if they choose. A secondary goal of the waiver is to give individual choice to delay or divert from institutional care.

The draft waiver application can be viewed online here, and a copy will be provided upon request.

Individuals who have questions about the proposed waiver can also contact Sandi Erber at //srerberatnd [dot] gov">srerberatnd [dot] gov or 701-328-8915.
