(St. Paul, MN) -- A Rochester man was sentenced to 180 months in prison and 10 years of supervised release for distribution of methamphetamine.

Court documents say 36-year-old Tyler Benjamin Batson distributed the drug from February through March of 2020 in Rochester and surrounding communities.

Court documents says a Minnesota State Trooper stopped Batson and a passenger traveling in a rented vehicle, who were returning from the Twin Cities area after meeting with his source of methamphetamine supply. The documents say after a canine sniffed the vehicle, officers found a small bag in the car with two pounds of methamphetamine inside.

Batson pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine.
