(Minneapolis, MN) -- A University of Minnesota committee wants changes in campus policing.

The campus safety committee is calling for the school to stop using its police force to help other agencies at policy brutality protests away from campus. The committee also wants U leaders to consider whether campus police should be limited to less lethal weaponry.

Some students have called for the university's police to be disarmed and subject to citizen oversight. The requests for changes come after the death of George Floyd brought attention to police brutality.
