(Minneapolis, MN) -- A 10-day strike notice has been filed with the Minnesota Board of Public Defense.

The contention between The Minnesota Board of Public Defense (MBPD) and the public defenders occur over pay disparities, benefit packages, and working conditions.

The ten day mediation period must take place before an actual strike begins. Leaders within the union say this would be the first time public defenders and their staff would go on strike within Minnesota.
