North Dakota daily oil output could increase 100-thousand barrels by end of 2022

(Bismarck, ND) -- State energy regulators are estimating that North Dakota's oil output could increase by 100-thousand barrels per day by the end of the year as high crude prices continue.

State Mineral Resources Director Lynn Helms said yesterday that the U.S. could make up for about 750-thousand of the five million barrels Russia had been exporting to countries now sanctioning Russia for its invasion of Ukraine.

Helms says about 50- to 100-thousand barrels per day could come from North Dakota. He says political conditions and worker shortages could affect increased activity in the Bakken.
