(Chernihiv, Ukraine) -- New details are emerging about a Minnesota native whose family says he was killed in Ukraine.
Jimmy Hill was living in Kyiv, but was in a hospital in Chernihiv with his partner Ira as she was set to be treated to stabilize her multiple sclerosis. His family says he and others waiting in line for bread were killed after being targeted by Russian forces.
Senator Amy Klobuchar called his death a tragedy caused by the "completely senseless, unprovoked invasion" of Ukraine by Russia. Hill had sent messages to family over the last few days describing intense bombing and the desperate condition of those trapped in the hospital.
