(Grand Forks, ND) -- Search parties are patrolling the Red River, looking for a person who was last seen wading into its waters.
An eyewitness report filed around 8:30am says a male walked into the Red River and began swimming towards the North Dakota shore just north of the Sorlie Memorial Bridge.
East Grand Forks Police and Fire, Grand Forks Police and Fire, Altru Ambulance, Polk County Sheriff's Office and Grand Forks County Sheriff's Office Water Operations Team are on the scene and actively searching the area.
