(St. Paul, MN) -- The Minnesota Department of Transportation is considering different approaches to traffic going through work zones after a recent study.
MnDOT and the Minnesota Department of Public Safety recently completed a work zone speed management study. The report outlines 14 ideas for reducing vehicle speeds in work zones and explores approaches to work zone safety.
Some proposals include using speed control vehicles, detouring people around construction zones, and using cameras to record speeds in work zones. The use of cameras would require a change in Minnesota law.
This week is Work Zone Awareness Week.
