(Bismarck, ND) -- A Democrat is entering the race for North Dakota Secretary of State.
Jeffrey Powell filed as a candidate from the state's Democratic-NPL Party Monday. Powell is the Student Life Director at Mayville State University.
He says the campaign will focus on "competence, economic growth, and protecting voters' constitutional rights."
Powell filed after the party failed to find a candidate to endorse at its convention last month.
