(Minneapolis, MN) -- A Minneapolis woman is celebrating two significant events.

Betty Sandison recently turned 84, then graduated from the University of Minnesota days later. Sandison graduated May 7th with her bachelor's degree in multidisciplinary studies.

She started college in 1955 and earned a certificate to become a licensed practical nurse from the U of M, before earning her associate's degree in nursing in the 1980s. She eventually retired as a registered nurse, but decided in 2018 to return to the U of M to earn her bachelor's degree.
