(Minneapolis, MN) -- Former Minneapolis Police officer Thomas Lane is pleading guilty to a state charge in connection with the death of George Floyd.

Lane pleaded guilty Wednesday to aiding and abetting manslaughter in Floyd's murder two years ago on a south Minneapolis street. His guilty plea is getting him a three-year sentence to be served concurrently with his federal sentence for a conviction earlier this year for violating Floyd's civil rights.

The federal sentence hasn't been handed down yet. Two other former officers remain scheduled for trial in Hennepin County on charges of aiding and abetting second-degree murder and manslaughter in Floyd's death.
