Two-vehicle crash near Drayton leaves one dead, another seriously injured

(Drayton, ND) -- One man is dead and another is injured following a head-on crash two miles west of Drayton.

The Pembina County Sheriff's Office says both vehicles were traveling on ND Highway 66 around 7:45 p.m. on Friday. That is when the driver of the westbound 2008 Ford Expedition crossed into the eastbound lane and struck a 2010 Jeep Wrangler head-on. The Ford Expedition came to rest in the north ditch, with the Jeep Wrangler stopping in the south ditch.

The Jeep Wrangler driver, a 24-year-old man from Williston, had serious but non-life threatening-injuries. The Ford Expedition driver, a 65-year-old man from Drayton, was pronounced dead at the scene. The names of both drivers have not been released at this time.

The crash remains under investigation.
