(Minneapolis, MN) -- The trial against two former Minneapolis police officers relating to the death of George Floyd is being postponed for a second time.

The trial against Tou Thao and J. Alexander Kueng was set to begin this month after being pushed back from March of this year. The new start date for the trial is in January of next year.

The two men are charged with aiding and abetting murder in the death of Floyd in 2020. The motion of continuance is being granted because of the recent publicity of the federal trial involving the two which ended in February.

Jury selection is scheduled to begin on January 9th, 2023.
