Former Minneapolis Police Officer sentenced for drug theft

Minneapolis, MN) -- A former Minneapolis police officer is being sentenced for stealing drugs during traffic stops.

Ty Jindra was sentenced to three years in federal prison after being convicted on the charges last November. Jindra was convicted of violating the civil rights of individuals through unconstitutional searches and seizures.

Jindra collected drugs including methamphetamine, oxycodone, and fentanyl from 2017 to 2019, according to the charging documents. His sentence will begin next month.
