(Minneapolis, MN) -- A Minneapolis community safety work group is making its recommendations.

The 22-member volunteer group released a series of recommendations Monday, focusing on accountability and oversight of the Minneapolis Police Department. The recommendations also target new recruitment and training efforts.

Mayor Jacob Frey announced the creation of the group in December 2021. The group was co-chaired by attorney and civil rights activist Nekima Ley Armstrong, and Plymouth Congregational church lead minister Reverend Dr. DeWayne Davis.
