(Detroit Lakes, MN) -- After fleeing from the courtroom following a jail sentence Wednesday afternoon, a Bemidji man was caught in Detroit Lakes just hours later.

The Becker County Sheriff's Office confirming to WDAY Radio that Alexander Paul Robare was arrested in Detroit Lakes by local law enforcement around 10:27 p.m. Tuesday.

At about roughly 2 p.m, just hours earlier, the 25-year-old had just been sentenced to 20 months behind bars for a charge of Escape from Custody. That's when Robare fled the 2nd floor courtroom of the courthouse in Becker County, and escaped temporarily. He was eventually tracked down by the Becker County Sheriff's Office, Minnesota State Patrol and Detroit Lakes Police Department.

Robare is currently being held in the Becker County Jail, with additional charges now pending.
