(Pierre, SD) -- South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem is joining 14 other Republican governors calling on President Biden to reject Title Nine changes related to transgender students.

The governors sent a letter Wednesday, upping the conflict between Noem and the U.S. Departments of Education and Agriculture. The conflict surrounds rules from the USDA which would limit funding to public schools that prohibit transgender students from participating in sports or using their choice of bathroom. Noem has threatened to sue over the issue.

Meanwhile,  a judge is denying Governor Noem's appeal of the federal government's Mount Rushmore Fireworks decision.

The Eighth Circuit of the United States Court of Appeals rejected Noem's contention that the denying the permit was unconstitutional. The court ruled that the state didn't have an innate right to set off fireworks on federal land.

South Dakota's appeal was supported by 16 other states.
