(Bismarck, ND) -- North Dakota's top Senate Democrat wants to see an inquiry into the leasing of a building by late Attorney General Wayne Stenehjem's office that included almost two million dollars in construction overruns.

Senate Minority Leader Joan Heckaman issued a call yesterday to Republican Governor Doug Burgum and current Attorney General Drew Wrigley to "initiate a complete investigation" into the matter. Burgum's spokesperson says the governor doesn't need to take special action because there are other ongoing investigations happening.

Heckaman and Senator Tracy Potter also called for an investigation into the deletion of work email accounts for Stenehjem and his former deputy Troy Seibel.
