(Minneapolis, MN) -- It is time to set the candidates for November.

Tuesday is Primary Election Day in Minnesota. The biggest race isn't very competitive, at least not until November. Governor Tim Walz is sure to win the Democratic nomination and will likely take on Republican Scott Jensen in the fall.

In the meantime, Congresswoman Ilhan Omar is facing a Democratic challenger in her race who has focused on crime. And there is an interesting Congressional primary in southern Minnesota's 1st Congressional District. Former Republican state Representative Brad Finstad and Democrat Jeff Ettinger are competing both in primaries for the fall ballot, and running against each other in a special election to serve-out the last few months of Congressman Jim Hagedorn's term in office.

The polls opened at 7 a.m, and will remain open until 8 p.m. The general election will be held on November 8th.
