Deaths at Sturgis Rally down, DUI arrests up

(Sturgis, SD) -- The total number of deadly crashes at the Sturgis Rally is down, while DUI drug arrests are up.

The rally ended Sunday with a total of three deadly crashes during the eight-day event, down from four last year.

The South Dakota Department of Safety says there were 26 more DUI arrests than last year, but fewer overall citations were given.

Drug arrest were down, but four vehicles were seized because of drug possession and the amount of cash seized was also up. There were fewer injury and non-injury crashes than during last year's rally.
