Judge blocks North Dakota's trigger law banning abortion

(Fargo, ND) -- A North Dakota judge Thursday once again blocked a trigger law banning abortion in the state. The move comes as the judge weighs arguments from the state's lone abortion clinic that the law violates the state constitution. District Judge Bruce Romanick granted the motion for a preliminary injunction as part of a lawsuit brought by the Red River Women's Clinic in Fargo. The ban was scheduled to take effect Friday. The Red River Women'a Clinic has opened a new facility in Moorhead, as abortion remains legal in Minnesota.
