(Fargo, ND) -- Our state is full of hard workers, and that has been reinforced by WalletHub's latest study.

The Personal Finance Website has ranked it's hardest working top states, and North Dakota ranks number one.

The study was done across ten key metrics, including average work-week hours to share of workers with multiple jobs to annual volunteer hours per resident. Some other key indicators where North Dakota performed well include:

  • 2nd – Avg. Workweek Hours
  • 12th – Employment Rate
  • 8th – Share of Workers with Multiple Jobs

WalletHub says Americans work an average of almost 1,800 hours per year, and are leaving an average of 4.6 days off unused as of last year.

South Dakota finished 4th on the hardest working list, while Minnesota came in at 18th.
