(Fargo, ND) -- North Dakota Farm Bureau's President is talking about one of the victims of a triple-murder suicide and sharing updates on how successful farming is looking across the state.

Triple Murder Suicide...

NDFB President Daryl Lies joined WDAY Midday to speak on both topics. He started with the death of Doug Dulmage, a life long member of the NDFB who passed away due to a triple murder and suicide in Towner county, offering his condolences to the family.

"Doug was a very integral part of helping us set our grassroots policy, "said Lies, "Just a real good local leader, the kind we depend on all across the state within our organization."

State of Farming...

When it comes to the back half of the 2022 farming season, Lies says he is looking forward to good reports. The President says from what he has seen so far, there are good signs.

"I'm hearing some pretty positive things when it comes to yields," said Lies, "Farmers I've been talking to, they're pleased - they're feeling pretty blessed, especially coming off of a year like 2021."

Lies says there are some pockets of drought across the state which have caused some problems for growers, but in general, thinks a "pretty nice crop" is on the way for farmers across the state.
