(St.Paul, MN) -- Two drowning deaths on Labor Day are being reported around Minnesota.

The Ramsey County Sheriff's office confirms a 77-year old man died from drowning in Long Lake in New Brighton Monday around the noon hour. It isn't known why he was in the water.

Not long after, the Crow Wing County Sheriff's office reported a 30-year old Hutchinson man died from drowning in Brainerd while swimming with students at Northstar Camp.

The man was on a retreat with students from Maplewood Academy. Deputies say the man went under the water but didn't surface, and was pulled out by a student. The man was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
