(Moorhead, MN) --  A Clay County Commissioner is running again and looking to earn your vote in the upcoming General Election.

Jenna Kahly is a current Clay County Commissioner who will appear on the ballot this November. She joined WDAY Midday to speak about her role on the Clay County Commission, improving the local childcare industry, and finding ways to improve substance abuse assistance programs within the region.

"I'm two years in, and I feel like I got some great momentum going in a lot of areas and I want to see those projects come to fruition," said Kahly.

Kahly says one of her accomplishments is prioritizing funding to build a new substance abuse crisis center in the county, which she says is funded through a state grand and opioid settlement dollars.

"We are going to be able to build a facility - doubling our capacity to meet the needs of folks with a substance abuse disorder, "said Kahly, "[we are] doing so without any impact on our tax levy."
