(Bismarck, ND) -- North Dakota schools are being impacted by a national driver shortage.

School bus routes are being disrupted, suspended or canceled in many areas of the state as the cost to train new drivers has jumped to between five-thousand and eight-thousand dollars.

Rural school districts are being especially affected by a loss of drivers.

Some districts are moving to smaller, 14-passenger buses to avoid hefty training costs.
