(Bismarck, ND) -- The North Dakota Legislature is set to consider changing spending limits for the Emergency Commission.
A new bill would change dollar amount spending limits to percentages of the state's general fund. The spending limits on the governor-led commission were put in place following frustration with the panel deciding how to spend over one-billion dollars of federal coronavirus aid with little input from lawmakers.
Governor Doug Burgum says the spending caps interfere with the state's ability to put money to use.
