(Grand Forks, ND) -- A Grand Forks man is set to spend 15 years in prison for a series of crimes that led two deputies to fire their weapons in February.

Court records show 38-year-old Joseph Espinoza was originally charged with numerous crimes, but four charges were dropped in connection with a plea agreement.

The incident happened after Espinoza crashed a car in the 800 block of County Highway 81 in February, then broke into a home before facing off with deputies and being shot.

He will receive credit for time served.
