(Bismarck, ND) -- Recent blizzards are expected to cut into December's oil production in North Dakota.

The state Department of Mineral Resources reported Monday that production for October remained flat.

Production numbers for November and December haven't been released yet.

New Mexico surpassed North Dakota last year as the nation's second-biggest oil producer.
