(Bismarck, ND) -- The U.S. Department of Agriculture is investing in projects in North Dakota and other states designed to fight climate change.

Funding in North Dakota will go towards phase two of the Badlands Restoration Project.

The project will treat 85-hundred acres of juniper and ponderosa pines to reduce the threat of wildfires.

It will also improve water and soil conditions and boost grazing land for livestock.
