(Bismarck, ND) -- North Dakota State University researchers are releasing data about the impact of the oil and gas industries on the state.

The 2021 data shows that oil and gas make up about 30-percent of the gross state product and nearly as much of the state's gross business volume.

The study also found that oil and gas taxes contribute three-point-eight billion dollars to state and local government revenues.

The industries employ almost 50-thousand people in North Dakota.
