(Bismarck, ND) -- New businesses opening for the first time in North Dakota must register with the state.

Officials advise registering your business name before producing any merchandise or products to avoid red tape later down the line.

Businesses must also register their trade with the North Dakota Secretary of State's office.

There are dozens of different types of businesses that can be registered in North Dakota, the most popular being LLC and Business Corporation models.
