(St. Paul, MN) -- A group of volunteers is calling for tougher laws regarding trash left on the ice by anglers in Minnesota.

The Keep It Clean campaign has helped remove several tons of trash each year from Minnesota waterways since 2012.

The president of the Upper Red Lake Area Association is set to testify Wednesday before the state House Environment and Natural Resources Finance and Policy Committee in support of the new bill.

The bill would make it illegal to leave any trash on the surface of state waters.
